default The Reefer Report: July one, 2009

In this episode: Washington DC appears to re-legalize healthcare marijuana, Police in Colorado return 40 gallons of medical cannabis to Boulder dispensary, San Diego gets an exam on its health care marijuana policy, New Hampshire watchdog group spews nonsense at the final minute, Oakland dispensary owners seek tax hike (that is correct, they want to raise their very own taxes on the “medicine” they supply- humorous I’ve in no way paid taxes at the nearby pharmacy)

Nice to see a segment on San Diego. The DA is still leading a war against medical marijuana here. Things have escalated since the cards have been issued.

    I see what you mean!

Also, “holding” or “owning” those patents really throws twisted logic to a new level, or dimension.
What a sick construct, this idea of not having nature legitimized & legal.

For cannabis, it was clarified long ago.

Good job as usual, very impressive. I can’t wait for the day it gets as legal as alcohol and tobacco.Wishful thinking I guess.

I have major issues, bc I have beliefs that fall under both viewpoints. That’s why I just call myself a Constitutionalist. After all, I carry around a copy of the Constitution like some people carry around a bible. As far as I am concerned partisanship is good as a checks and balances sort of thing, but beyond that seems to confuse most politicians and civilians who use partisanship as a way of being lazy.

Ahh, I see. I’m so used to seeing people putting the issue of marijuana over on to liberals or the like but thats completely untrue. While I respect the liberals that hold individual liberty as the highest priority. They are not the enemy of conservatives because small government may be required for civil liberty to exist as it was meant to. None of this matters since people of all parties both support and oppose marijuana. Thankfully, I believe more support than oppose.

It shouldn’t go on your record for anything. It seems that since it is medical in nature, the state would be violating some pretty major privacy laws against the registered patients if they disclosed this info to anyone w/o the patient’s consent. I do know in CA there was a county that was talking about making caregivers register with the local police if they wanted to grow for a patient, but they weren’t going to require any permitted patients to register to grow their own medicine.

I keep wondering if the whole prhibition thing is the government’s ultimate attempt to preserve our last real commodity until we have no choice but to legalize just to sustain our country.

I completely agree with you, which is why I made a point to talk about the story. MMj a very obvious non-partisan issue, since illness doesn’t give a crap about partisanship. It makes me pretty angry when I hear people misrepresent something and try to gain support by defining the issue as conservative or liberal. However, my specific response was in regard to this group’s attempt to make medical marijuana a conservative issue, and back that with hypocritical political logic.

I don’t think liberalism or conservatism should be brought up. From what I can tell, these 2 labels.. as most labels do, only divide people more by grouping certain opinions with a title making it harder for those that believe in these titles to look at an issue unbias. I’ve also found that far to many have preconceived ideas about the political labels and don’t even really know why they need to stand for or against an issue or what those issues are really about.
