Question by jsmith0389: Current status of Medical Marijuana in NJ, agree or disagree?
The revised medical marijuana bill is heading back to the NJ senate where if passed will go to Governor Corzine said he would pass it, these are some of the revisions to the bill…
Only folks suffering from specific diseases — AIDS, cancer, many sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and seizure problems — would be permitted to use the illegal drug. The original bill defined eligible customers by their signs.
Only the registered patient may possibly retrieve the drug from the grower, or, if the patient is unable to do so, a courier service could be arranged to deliver the pot to the patient’s house. The original bill permitted a designated caregiver to retrieve the illegal drug on the patient’s behalf.
No a single would be allowed to develop their very own pot. The unique bill would have permitted patients to develop as numerous as six plants — and possess up to 1 added ounce of usable marijuana. Below the new version, individuals could only get the drug — no a lot more than one ounce a month — through a licensed nonprofit increasing facility.
In my opinion California laws are too loose, but the state is seeing enormous tax returns from all of the marijuana dispensers. On a MSNCB documentary, one man at the moment owns two medical marijuana dispensers in Oakland, CA. He paid nearly $ 300,000 in state taxes and $ 150,000 in federal in 2007. There are over 500 dispensers in the state of CA. This is massive money that states across the US could be creating. With strict laws most do not have access to medical marijuana. Folks are going to smoke marijuana no matter what. Why not tax their “medicine” and contact it a day. With a dense population right here in NJ, dispensers could rack up a lot of tax income for NJ to aid the soften budget crisis. In my opinion we tax citizens when they acquire alcohol, an additional common “medicine” that several adults like to drink. In the end strict medical marijuana restrictions do not assist the result in. Marijuana is not a hazardous drug so it should not be strictly regulated to the point wherever profit isn’t created, however it very easily could be. Agree or Disagree about NJ proposed laws on Medical Marijuana?

Disagree.
I am for the decriminalization of marijuana period.
Why is it that everything needs to be regulated and taxed? Just like the prohibition, this ‘war on drugs’ is going to soon be over. It didn’t work with alcohol and it isn’t going to work with herbs, fungus and plants. Like you said, “People are going to smoke marijuana no matter what.”…. why not just make it legal and tax the hell out of it like alcohol and tobacco? But don’t call it medicinal. Especially when most people who use it use it recreationally.
