Yes, there’s no reason not to. Take a look at Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, etc.
There’s many places that have legalized small amounts, and none of them have had any negative effects as a result. That ends this debate. Nobody can argue anything against that, it’s already been tried and tested in many different countries and passed with flying colors. Ignorant people will ignore facts though. They will still give me thumbs down even though they can’t debate what I just said. If they were rational people, they would admit they are wrong, but ignorant people are incapable of that. Enough with the fear mongering and propaganda. Time for people to join the 21st century.
You go to China and tell them that they aren’t free, they will say they are. You show them how they are not allowed to talk about certain subjects, and they will say that it is for the good of the country. They are brainwashed because they were born into that, it’s always been that way. That’s how drugs are here in USA. It’s always been that way with marijuana, so people are very ignorant about it. They personally don’t like pot, they personally don’t like those who smoke it, because they were taught that it’s wrong. They feel it’s for the good of their society, yet they can’t explain why no society that has legalized it has had any negative effects. It’s a plant, it was here on this earth before humans. Mother Nature or God or whatever creator made this plant, and we are not allowed to grow it or consume it, yet handguns have been around for less than 200 years, are man made, and most adults can go buy one. It’s because the people in USA were born with guns being legal, it’s always been that way. These people actually think they are free, just like those people in China. They only support freedoms when it’s something they personally want. It’s not about Universal Freedom. They like to drink, so they want their freedom to drink. They don’t like to smoke pot, so they could care less if other people are free to.
Yellow Alarm Clock, it’s legal in many countries, depending on your definition of legal. It’s decriminalized, which means it’s not completely legal, but legal with regulations. It’s legal enough to where a person can legally smoke it or grow it, but there’s regulations to where you can’t do certain things such as smoke it in a public place or sell it out of your own home etc.
But I agree with everything else you said.

Mexico recently decriminalized it as well in an attempt to focus more resources on the drug cartels and less on the small time users. It won’t work though, as long as drugs remain illegal in USA, the drug cartels will continue to make billions each year in the black markets.

edit:
Ok I see your point. I guess it just depends on how you look at it. You have some websites stating it’s tolerated, while you have others stating it was decriminalized in 1976 with an amendment to the Opium Act. It’s a very grey area. But I’ve read that the courts are instructed by the government not to prosecute people who follow the regulations. I view it as legalized with regulations, kind of like how in certain states you can’t sell alcohol after a certain time (although yes, that is different because there are no laws that contradict that like how there are laws in the Netherlands that contradict their regulations). I mainly view it as being legal because they are open about what they are doing in the coffee shops and they are regulated by the government out in the open. I don’t view it as tolerated, because it’s not like the government is turning a blind eye to what’s going on, they are confronting it head on and asking them to follow the regulations. The coffee shops place their licenses to sell marijuana in the windows, which shows they are adhering to the regulations set forth by the government. Just the fact that they have regulations makes me feel that it’s legal because it’s not like “don’t ask, don’t tell”. When I think of the word “tolerated”, I think of situations like prostitution in Thailand, where its illegal, but they turn a blind eye because of the loopholes. In Thailand, the bars use loopholes, such as disguising the brothels as bars or massage parlors. If a sex tourist goes to a bar and wants one of the girls to leave with him, he pays the bar fine. But he’s not paying for sex, according to the bar, he’s just paying to leave the bar with the girl. The government knows its prostitution, but they tolerate it, and don’t confront the situation head on. So I view The Netherlands as being legal/decriminalized, simply because the government actually says “we don’t want you selling more than 5 grams to each customer and you must place a license in the window”.
But I’m not saying you’re wrong, I just disagree and I think it’s just a matter of how you view the glass, as half empty or half full.
They guy above me smokes a lot of it, anyways, he is right
they should legalized marijuana, and tax it really heavy, I mean people now days people talk about marijuana like is not big deal, and is not really a gateway drug I smoked some one time and didn’t like it at all, I did like cocaine and X, however, I was never a heavy user of any though, anyways, so yeah they should legalize marijuana, right now marijuana is on the same boat alcohol was during the prohibition era.
