Entry from: Hanoi, Vietnam Entry Title: “Drifting close to the north” Entry: “I’m sitting at an internet location right close to the corner from my uncle’s house in Dong Da, wiling away some time till lunch. This location is not touristy at all so world wide web is ridiculously low cost at much less than 20 cents an hour (in contrast to the USD/hour in the Old Quarter). The keyboards are also **** and sticky so I have to sort slow or I miss some letters.. probably due to the hordes of young boys (and at times girls) who come right here to play video games while swearing at the leading of their lungs (fairly hilarious). Also, individuals here smoke all over the place so there is some guy smoking in this location a number of personal computers down.. yuck. I have to get utilized to it although cuz I am not in Toronto any longer.. Anyway, I have been right here now for a week and nonetheless have a week to go ahead of I take off for China. In Hanoi, largely been chillin’ with the family, or wandering the streets. I adore this city and all the items that make it intriguing: the relaxed (yet thrilling and not-so-relaxed) atmosphere, the camaraderie of the people, the street meals (the other day, we had the best banh cuon (thin crepes created with rice flour and stuffed with crispy fried onions for me, and ground pork for absolutely everyone else.. and served with fresh herbs and of course, nuoc cham).. sold by a …
