A female hawk, this ferriginous hawk was the star of the display for the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum unique exhibit of raptors. I got images of this certain bird a month ago and this day when I went back I knew far better what to do with my camera. This is a zoom shot from about 25′ away. Very best view is definitely significant. This image of the same hawk a month ago has links about this species – fascinating info. As great as it gets for cobalt, right here.

This female scrub pine (Pinus virginiana) cone has most probable been pollinated, and , if all goes properly, will mature into the dark, tough structure that most of us know as a pine cone, and open up so that the seeds can fall out, in 2007.
