MY 12 STEP PROGRAM FOR AMERICA!

America will do fine without your brand of 12 steps.
Give your answer to this question below!

Pardon my ignorance but i don’t spend time reading rants if you have any intelligent question to ask then please do
You should run for President in 2012.
12 steps may not be enough to get us out of the deep basement bush put us in. Obama needs at least 24 steps to get to ground level.
Yeah but that would be the sane and smart thing to do. Liberals are not really into those things. They may bring it up but when they can vote on it their decision is too predictable.
Result 11 puts the rest in perspective. Karl Marx would love it.
1. Everyone should have skin in the game. A much flatter tax would be better.
2. Don’t increase the size of anything that would require tax funding.
3. The term “national service college” bothers me.
4. Don’t go after the insurance companies until tort reform is in place.
5. Agree.
6. Are you insane, all foreign investors would call in their loans!
7. The economy would be destroyed.
8. Agree
9. Agree
10. Agree
11. If we redirect existing Labor Dept assets, ok.
12 You can’t grant amnesty to foreign investors, but you can eliminate US taxes on them.
Well, having free college for vets and others is a good idea, but you’ve got a lot of spending and there isn’t much of a way to pay for it, in your plan. A tax on luxury items isn’t going to make up for getting rid of taxes for anyone making under 200k. In fact, it wont even be close.
Giving small businesses a free ride for 6 months and creating an agency to investigate insurance fraud would also take a great deal of money, and again, there’s no way to pay for it in your plan.
If you get rid of taxes, you get rid of government programs (ie – free or reduced price education, services for vets), you don’t magically allow for more.
I don’t claim, as you apparently do, to be able to speak for all of these suggestions but—
If you were suddenly to declare all outstanding bonds to be at zero percent, the holders of all of those bonds would immediately demand payment, forcing the US to declare bankruptcy.
Since Conservatives always demand this of Liberals, how are you going to pay for 6 months of operating costs for the small business centers you propose?
You must have an enormous azz from which to pull the ridiculous figure of 15 trillion barrels of off shore oil. Utterly laughable.
Again, since it’s always demanded of Liberals, the government shouldn’t get into the business of providing healthcare, bailing out banks or assisting the auto industry but we should suddenly start selling nuclear power to the public? And we can start by putting one of those power plants directly in your back yard. And store the waste in your basement.
We’ve spent close to 200 billion dollars on space based missle defense and haven’t got a damned thing to show for it yet. How much more do you want to throw at this incredible boondoggle, and how do you plan to pay for it?
If you don’t think US manufacturers will jack up prices of domestically produced oil, plastic and steel the second we ban foreign imports of same, you’re even more naive than I already think you are.
Again, humungous azz you’ve got there. From what happy magical land of faeries and elves are you getting these unemployment, GDP growth, household income, etc figures??
Most are simply impractical but many of them are the types of things a Democrat would buy into such as taxing the rich, trade protectionism, federal health insurance, etc. Some are silly like the space shield – who the heck do you think is going to fire a nuclear missile? Only the US I suspect. I find it such a hoot. If you were a terrorist state and had a nuclear weapon would you put it on a missile and fire it at the states who could detect its source and nuke you to kingdom come or would you put it in the hold of a cargo ship that could have come from anywhere if they even discover the source. If you stopped oil imports you’d cause a gas crisis and prices would skyrocket to double digit inflation. And, as for #12, the US is already owned by the Saudis, China, Japan, etc. Foreign investment in the US is astronomical and deadly to US sovereignty.
1. – Why should the middle class share NONE of the tax burden? What constitutes a “luxury item”?
2. – I agree we need to do more to encourage people to start businesses, but people need to invest some of their own money. When my mother and I started our small daycare, if we had someone else paying, we would have bought all new stuff regardless of costs. Because it was our responsibility to pay, we bought garage sale and resale when ever possible.
3. – A separate college run by the gov will surly be run inefficiently. But how about guaranteed loans and maybe grants? And an option to pay back the loans by work, (like a doctor or nurse working in a free clinic once a week as repayment)
4. – Very idealistic. There will always be fraud. And the government gets more abuse of their system than the insurance company does. I would not trust the government to do a good job.
5. – You got a point here. But there would be much disagreement as to what constitutes “non-essential.”
6. – Another good point. But it may be too difficult to do completely. But we need to do the best we can.
7. By when? We currently can’t support our own oil habit. Even with us drilling here, we would also need to conserve so that our own oil could meet our needs. But a great long tem goal.
8. – YES!!! It would be years till we saw that oil, but that is no excuse to not do it!
9. YES!!! We need more nuclear power plants. But would likely be more difficult than you think.
10. – I do not know enough about this to comment.
11. – My brother went to a government work placement office every day for weeks. When he finally did find a job, it was not in through that office. The government is very inefficient on things like this.
12. – Or something along those lines to bring business to America.
Your figures are extremely optimistic, to say the least. But you do have some ideas that would be helpful. The fact they won’t work as well as you imagine does not take away from the fact that you do have some good ideas.
